If you were with me at You & Ai in Akihabara, or at Idolfest Germany, then you've now heard "Eternal Love" for the very first time. So… how was it? I've been dying to ask.
Let me tell you what this song means to me.
"Eternal Love" is a city-pop ballad about searching. It opens under neon lights - "Under neon lights we walk alone, searching for a dream we've never known." I wanted to capture that feeling of a city full of people and full of light, where somehow you're still looking for something you can't quite name. For me, that something is love — to love, and to be loved.
The line I hold closest is the quiet question near the end: "will you ever, will you ever, find me?" That's the most honest part of me in the whole song. Underneath all the lights, what I really want is to be found. To be seen. And the chorus answers it the only way I know how — not alone, but side by side. We keep searching together.
Below is my performance of "Eternal Love" from Idolfest Germany — its German premiere. Please know this is a live version, sung straight from the stage. I haven't been able to record it in the studio yet… but I hope, with all my heart, that I will soon. When that day comes, you'll be the first to know.
For now — thank you for listening. Tell me what "Eternal Love" made you feel.
